It’s possible to use two different graphics cards in one computer. Both cards will provide a graphical output to your monitors or for running separate tasks on each card. BUT these cards can’t be linked in tandem to form a GPU array using either SLI or Crossfire. In other words they don’t add additional frame rate performance.

All cards must use the same GPU, but don't necessarily need to be from the same manufacturer. All cards need the same bus width and amount of VRAM. Windows, specifically Windows applications generally do not care how many different GPUs you have. Say you have Monitor 2 with a 750 and Monitor 1 with a 1070. Chrome is going to push all GPU accelerated content to the primary display's GPU regardless of which monitor a window is on. What this means is your 750 is sitting there not being utilized.

Two graphics cards installed in a computer can double the amount of power required to run them in tandem. For example, a single high-end graphics card might require a 500-watt power supply to function properly; two of these cards may require 850 watts. Most consumer desktops aren't equipped with high-wattage power supplies.

In fact, if you think about it, you very well might already have two video "cards" on that computer. One just happens to be built-in on the processor (an Intel) and one could be an add-on card (like an nvidia). Fun side note: I used to work with a guy who pronounced nvidia as "nuh- vee -da". Drove me up the wall.

if your going to use a single graphic card instead of two graphic cards you have to put the card on the slot near the media outputs (hdmi, display port,....) or it will not work. 2nd thing is you cannot install two different cards not even if you are not using them as sli. in my laptop it will only use the one that is closer to the media outputs
