The Play The highest bidder then makes the opening lead, and may lead any card. The other players each play a card (playing clockwise) and must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card.

The highest bidder then makes the opening lead, and may lead any card. The other players each play a card (playing clockwise) and must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, he/she may play any card. The trick goes to the highest trump or, if there are no trump cards, to the highest card of the suit led.

The player to the left of the dealer leads first by playing any card from his hand. Exceptions: If someone has chosen to go alone, the player to that person's left leads first. If two players have decided to go alone, the player on the team that did not choose trump (the defender) leads first.

The player who wins the bid begins play by leading a card. Play continues in clockwise order; each player must follow suit if they have a card of the suit led. The left bower is considered a member of the trump suit and not a member of its native suit. The player who played the highest trump wins the trick.

A player can also bid a “big pepper,” which is a bid to take all six tricks and to double the number of points available to gain or lose during play. The winning bidder can lead any card to begin the hand. Play continues clockwise, with each player following the suit. If a player cannot follow suit, he plays any card in the hand.

Pepper card game rules. Pepper is a plain trick taking game closely related to Euchre. It is played widely in Ohio and Iowa, U.S.A. The game is thought to have derived from an older German game, Hasenpfeffer which means, “peppered hare”, and therefore the short name ‘Pepper’. Like all games of the Euchre group, the Jacks hold the special position of Bowers, and are elevated in rank above the Aces depending on the trump suit called.

If you bid double-Pepper, you will play your hand as is and do not discard a card. Bidding ends with the dealer. Trick Play The player who made the highest bid leads the first trick. Subsequent tricks are led by the person who captured the previous trick. Tricks are captured by playing the highest card on the trick. Suit is important in two ways. First, the lowest trump card is higher than any non-trump card. This means a queen of the trump suit is always higher than the ace of any other ...

1. Decide on an order of play. You can play horse with two or more players but you must agree on an order for who plays first, then second, and so on. Try flipping a coin or playing rock, paper, scissors to figure out who gets to choose the order. If you can't decide, take turns shooting from the same spot.

This game is for four players. Reduce the size of your deck by removing the 2 through the 6 of each suit. For the game of Twenty-Eight, you’ll be using a deck of only 32 cards—J, 9, A, K, Q, 10, 8 and 7 in ranking order. Deal out the deck until each player has a total of four cards in her hand.
